Route panoramique
The vineyards of Bonvillars and their typical villages dedicated to wine-making slowly give way to vegetation more characteristic of a mountainous region before the pines of the Jura take over. The views, initially over the vines and the lake and then the chain of the Alps, will take your breath away - as will the climb! Once you have reached the Col de l’Aiguillon you are well rewarded by the descent to the plain.

"Maison des Terroirs"
Located in the heart of the village of Grandson, near Lake Neuchâtel, the Maison des Terroirs is housed in an old renovated building, which has retained all its charm and character.
Visitors will find all the information they need for a successful stay. Following an oenotourism strategy, leisure information is combined with the discovery of the region's terroir, including truffles from northern Vaud. Thanks to its proximity to the Bonvillars AOC vineyards, the Maison des Terroirs presents and serves the finest wines to its guests. To accompany them, delicious cheeses and charcuterie garnish the table. In a convivial atmosphere, the Maison des Terroirs is also a place for exchanges between locals and visitors.

Castle of Yverdon-les-Bains
The Castle of Yverdon-les-Bains, the first military defence known to be built according to the "Savoyard square” design, is a lowland fortress commissioned in 1259 by Pierre de Savoie. Located in the centre of the town of Yverdon-les-Bains, it has undergone many transformations over the centuries.
Officially a national asset since 1798, it was home to the renowned educator Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi and his institute for boys at the beginning of the 19th century. Along with his collaborators, Pestalozzi developed his innovative teaching method in what you could well describe as a “pedagogical laboratory”. The castle was then used to house government-run schools until 1974.
As the home and centrepiece of the extensive Museum of Yverdon and Region since 1915, the castle allows visitors to retrace the history of the town and its surroundings over the past 10,000 years and provides a showcase of the region’s eventful history, which is known well beyond its borders, too.
The castle also features temporary exhibitions of the Swiss Museum of Fashion, the Pestalozzi Documentation and Research Centre, as well as a theatre and several event spaces for rent.

Grandson Castle
Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, the castle of Grandson played a central role in the Burgundy Wars and the Battle of Grandson (1476). The Duke of Burgundy Charles the Bold, defeated by the Confederates, left behind a prestigious spoils, including numerous pieces of artillery.
The Castle of Grandson - a site of national importance - is currently being renovated and will house a new museum in 2026. The inauguration will coincide with the commemoration of the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Grandson. During this transition period, the monument remains open to the public.
Visits, animations and events are organised regularly for the whole family.

Menhirs of the Grandson region
Grandson - Les Echatelards :
The Grandson menhir, 4 m high, stands on the edge of the road leading to Fiez. It can be found along a country lane a few hundred metres from the Grandson exit. The menhir was discovered in 1895, lying under around 50 cm of earth. In 1897, it was extracted and moved to stand 3-4 m higher than the pit in which it lay.
Corcelles-près-Concise:
A group of 4 menhirs can be seen at the place called «Les Pierres Plates». These menhirs form a rectangle, the orientation of which was probably based on remarkable astronomical bearings, such as the rising or the setting of the sun or moon at the solstices or the equinoxes.
The site dates from the same period as the Clendy alignment at Yverdon-les-Bains. Three of these menhirs are prehistoric, but the fourth one in the north-west was carved and erected in 1843 on the site of a menhir which disappeared in the 18th century.
Bonvillars:
A large menhir, 3.50 metres in height, rises up proudly among the vines at the entrance to Bonvillars. It is to be found standing between la Cour and the cellars of the winegrowers of the designated Bonvillars wine region.

Bonvillars AOC
With great wines, scenery, history and a friendly atmosphere, the Bonvillars vineyards have all the ingredients for a wine tourism holiday. With spectacular scenery overlooking Lake Neuchâtel, the area is ideal for people who like to combine the joys of nature with fine living.
With an exceptional minerality, Bonvillars wines grow and develop on limestone rock and gravelly soil. The Pinots noirs and other grape varieties release tannins and elegant flavours and to enjoy them to the full, you have to meet the wine-makers who willingly share their passion with visitors to their vineyards.
At the gateway to Bonvillars, the mediaeval town Grandson provides the historical dimension to this wine region. Wandering through its narrow streets and visiting the castle are the perfect complement for a cultural and gourmet holiday.

Dolmen at Onnens
The dolmen at Onnens, a prehistoric funeral monument, was uncovered in 2000. The discovery was made in the course of large-scale pre-emptive archaeological digs undertaken prior to the construction of the A5 motorway. During the dig at the place called «Praz Berthoud» archaeologists discovered an ensemble of five large blocks of stone.
The largest of these slabs measures more than 3.5 metres in length and weighs around six tonnes! Underneath, they brought to light six large oval trenches. One of these contained some organic sediment, in which were found bones and human teeth.
The monument is impressive. In 2010, it was put back in place a few metres away from its original site, along with the slabs found on site and three new slabs carved from granite from the Tarn. Additional information is to be found on the display boards at the site.

Baulmes Church
In 1294 the Abbott of Cluny united in perpetuity the house of St. Michel of Baulmes with the Convent of Payerne. However, during the fifteenth century and in spite of this direct filiation, the buildings fell into disrepair. On their arrival in 1536 the Bernese abolished the priory that was probably in great decline.
The church was completely transformed in 1821 and 1870. The belfry with its gothic windows and lancet arch is the sole remnant of the first church. The site of the priory is unknown.
The village of Baulmes also proposes a visit to the Museum of “Vieux Baulmes” and to the Clock Tower (by appointment only).

The La Coudre Foundation
The foundation was created to manage the estate bequeathed by Mr. Friedrich Stephen. It consists of a 19th Century farmhouse that has become the ‘Heritage House’ and about ten hectares of agricultural land. The will of the donor, a pharmacist from Geneva, was to make his property a centre dedicated to rural heritage and medicinal plants. The valuable estate is of major importance because it is situated in a very rich and diverse natural rural environment.
Alongside the organisation of activities and workshops for children and adults and the sale of local products, the foundation has set itself the objective of conserving the estate’s heritage of the farmhouse, the box-tree garden and the high-stem orchard. It is also possible to hire rooms for meals and meetings (up to 50 persons).
