ON THE GRAND TOUR OF SWITZERLAND, THE ROAD IS YOUR DESTINATION. THIS ROUTE WILL LEAD YOU 1,600 KM THROUGH FOUR LINGUISTIC REGIONS, 5 ALPINE PASSES, 11 UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES, 2 BIOSPHERES AND ALONG 22 LAKES. THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER AND EXPLORE AN EPITOME OF SWITZERLAND – ITS MOST BEAUTIFUL SITES AND CULTURAL EXCELLENCE.

The tour allows visitors to discover the rich variety of landscapes to be found in the canton of Vaud while crossing the plain of the river Rhône, the shores of Lake Geneva with its Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the La Côte area. At the Vallée de Joux the route continues up into the Jura mountains of the canton, before descending to the Yverdon-les-Bains region.

Here visitors will discover Vallorbe and its spectacular caves, the mediaeval market town of Romainmôtier and its Cluniac Abbey, the charming town of Orbe with its mosaics and the vineyards of the Côtes de l'Orbe. The route then continues to the thermal town of Yverdon-les-Bains to admire its cultural heritage and magnificent natural environment. Then, once again, the route passes through the Jura Mountains and on to Sainte-Croix, world capital of the music box. It then passes through the cantons of Neuchâtel and Fribourg, finally arriving in the beautiful Pays-d’Enhaut valley with its century old chalets, where the tour of the canton of Vaud comes to an end.
