Swiss Brain Clock

The purpose of a watch is to measure time according to a specific norm. But where does this norm come from? Could it be possible to measure time in a different way? You can discover an exciting approach to these questions in the workshop “Tales of Time” (Les Contes du Temps).

Mario Wüthrich, poet, artist and inventor, receives his visitors in his workshop-boutique “Les Contes du Temps” for an educational experience in the course of which each individual develops his/her own “Swiss Brain Clock”.

In the course of an interactive workshop lasting 120 minutes, visitors create their own octagonal clock mounted on original coloured supports, very much a designer object. These workshops are also well suited to company outings and children’s days (classes, birthdays).

Sainte-Croix, which was the industrial centre of the music box and automatons in the 19th century, has managed to keep its tradition of manufacturing mechanisms.

It is possible to continue one’s visit at the CIMA Museum (1 km) or the Baud Museum in L’Auberson (5 km), both of which possess a unique collection of automatons, music boxes and mechanical instruments.

If you wish to admire the view of the Alps and the surrounding pastoral countryside, take the panoramic train from Yverdon-les-Bains to Sainte-Croix.
