After a long period of closure, La Boîte à Musique has reopened in a mythical spot of the winter resort of Les Rasses near Sainte-Croix and Yverdon-les-Bains. The restaurant attracts guests with its typically Swiss atmosphere and traditional dishes at an excellent price-quality ratio.
The setting of La Boîte à Musique, a bistro-type restaurant within the Grand Hôtel des Rasses, is slightly outdated but all the more charming. Restaurant patrons and visitors to this family resort love the warm welcome and the excellent price-quality ratio of the typically Swiss dishes on offer. Regional deli meats, röstis and cheese dishes are on the menu just as the famous meringues with double cream as a dessert.
Opened in 1904, the restaurant was originally a shop selling souvenirs, including the famous music boxes of Sainte-Croix. Since the 50s, La Boîte à Musique has been a restaurant, a bar/dancing and then a disco. After years of closure, the patrons are happy to see this mythical restaurant open again.
La Boîte à Musique is within the Grand Hôtel des Rasses, a beautiful Belle-Epoque building of the 19th century located 1,200 m above sea-level.
