House of the Bell and of popular memory

Nestled at the top of the village of Juriens, 2 km away from Romainmôtier, the ‘House of the Bell and of popular memory’ is a unique exhibition space filled with decorative and animal bells from Switzerland and other countries.

Olivier Grandjean, founder of the Autumn Fair and Cowbell Market of Romainmôtier, is an avid collector of bells. Behind the doors of his house he has all kinds of bells, each with its own unique provenance and he knows the history of each and every one.

A guided tour available in French and English is available by prior arrangements for groups of about ten persons. The duration is about 45 minutes to an hour depending on interest and questions.

Easy access but there is a staircase to access part of the collection.
