Promotion of economic activity
ADVN was established in 1969 as a non-profit organisation having for objective to contribute to the harmonious economic and social development of the north part of the Canton of Vaud. Its members are the 80 communes of the Jura Nord Vaudois district (formerly Orbe, Grandson and Yverdon les Bains) as well as approximately 250 private businesses.
ADVN’s activities fall into 3 main categories:
- Economy: promotional activities at the regional level
- Tourism: coordination of promotional activities at the regional level
- Public affairs: public issues at the regional level
For many years ADVN has been cooperating with neighbouring areas, either within the framework of the agreement for cooperation with the Vallée de Joux, or within that of the Mountain Regions of Vaud Group for the mountain areas of the region. ADVN also cooperates with the regions of the Arc Jurassien through the Consultative Group of Mountain Areas of the Arc Jurassien (GCLIM) as well as with neighbouring France within the framework of the Cross-Border Proximity Cooperation for the Mont d’Or/Chasseron Area of the Conference Transjurassienne(CTJ).
ADVN has regularly developed different kinds of projects with different partners, for example the project for developing rural tourism in the Canton of Vaud (the Regio Plus Project) or the network of “Maisons des terroirs” promoting local produce and specialities (Innotour Project). ADVN provides help and support for projects in two main fields: economic development and regional development.
