The Peace Stone and the Pathway of the Energies (Gorges of Covatannaz)
The Peace Stone at Le Chasseron is an extraordinary stone with strange, revitalizing powers. It is a large, erratic block of gneiss or granite that was deposited at the time of the last great melting of the glaciers on land that is now part of the commune of Bullet.
The stone has been engraved with the hieratic symbols of all the major religions as well as with the mathematical sign for infinity that groups all non-recognized faiths. Apart from the symbols themselves, there has been great scientific interest in telluric forces which have been detected both in the stone itself and in the land surrounding it. These forces seem to be of exceptional intensity: they are close to those measured in the sarcophagus of the cathedral of Aix-la-Chapelle in Germany (a European record).
The measurement of telluric forces in the area was begun on the initiative of a resident of Sainte-Croix, Mme Françoise Ernst, who invited the celebrated German geobiologist Dr Horst Frithjov to head research on the phenomenon. Telluric energies have been measured both on the Sainte-Croix plateau and in the Gorges of Covatannaz which lie in the direction of Yverdon-les-Bains. The hiking trail between Sainte-Croix and Vuiteboeuf is now known as « The Pathway of the Energies ». According to the many visitors who come to the area to benefit from the properties of the Peace Stone, only a few minutes are necessary for them to recharge their batteries and set off again with renewed energy for a visit to the Hôtel des Chasserons and its delicious local specialities.
