Yvonand
Yvonand is situated at the mouth of the River Menthue. It has about 2500 inhabitants, who are known as the « Tappa-Sabllia ».
The commune of Yvonand, with a surface area of 13,39 km2, is the largest in the district. It is bordered by 8 other communes and the Lake of Neuchâtel. Within the commune, forest lands cover 439 hectares and cultivated land 762 hectares, comprising many successful agricultural enterprises.
The local economy is driven by flourishing local crafts, local stores and enterprises. Many commercial enterprises are linked to waterfront activities (shipyard construction sites etc.)
Yvonand has a small marina that offers more than 300 mooring spaces. The Hôtel de la Gare (14 rooms), the camping ground (240 spaces) and a bed-and-breakfast (« chambre d’hôte ») are ready to welcome visitors. Many local companies offer sports and cultural activities.
The A1 motorway and the railway provide easy, rapid access to Yvonand’s fine sand beaches.
