Sainte-Croix
Sainte-Croix is a village that is almost a small city, with more than 4,500 inhabitants working in sectors as diverse as precision instruments, craft industries and tourism. Situated in the Canton of Vaud, in the region that is part of the Jura mountain rage, Sainte-Croix is both a summer and winter holiday resort destination, as well as the manufacturing capital for musical boxes.
The technopole which opened in December 2009 is a tribute to Sainte-Croix’s development and an indicator of its future economic aspirations. Covering an area of almost 4000 hectares, Sainte Croix is one of the largest communes of the Canton of Vaud It has an average altitude of 1,094 meters with a low point at 604 meters and a high point culminating at 1,560 meters.
On its western edge, the district borders France and the Canton of Neuchâtel. Saint-Croix was erected on the Yverdon-les-Bains – Pontarlier axis, halfway between the two cities. By road, Lausanne and Neuchâtel are currently accessible in 40 minutes, and Geneva with its international airport in one hour. France is also nearby - Besançon is one hour away, and Dijon two.
