Grandson
The commune of Grandson enjoys a particularly favourable situation and attracts an increasing number of people – both those who wish to reside in the commune and those who are visiting the region as tourists.
Grandson is a lively, dynamic community. It has about 40 local organizations that are active in sports, culture and social events; a tourist office that offers visitors the opportunity to taste local specialities; a marina that was enlarged and improved in 2007; a new municipal meeting room that was inaugurated the same year; and finally a castle that is among those most visited in Switzerland
Visitors will be enchanted by the picturesque old town of Grandson, with its ancient fountains and the narrow alley-ways, closed to road traffic, that lead down to the lakeside.
The commune covers 789 hectares and has about 3 000 inhabitants. Its altitude varies between a low point of 435 m at lake level, rising to 535 m on the heights of Péroset in the direction of Fiez.
