Bullet
Bullet is the link between the communes of Mauborget to the east and Sainte-Croix to the west.
The commune has 587 inhabitants, known as « Bullatons », but the population doubles during the vacation period. Bullet is part of the district of the North-Jura district in the Canton of Vaud, and is situated close to the northern capital of Yverdon-les-Bains.
Agriculture is still a very important activity throughout the commune, ensuring that tourism in the area will be « slow » and close to nature. In summer, Bullet offers walks along country paths as well as all-terrain bike trails that are particularly appreciated by bike enthusiasts due to the hilly topography of the Jura. In winter, the ski lifts of Les Rasses take skiers and snowboarders to their starting points for a gentle glide down the slopes. Visitors may also explore the enchanting landscape of this northern paradise through activities that are suitable for the whole family: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or winter walks along the trails.
Bullet is also a commune devoted to forestry development, with an annual capacity of 2500 m3 for 500 hectares of forest suitable for lumbering. However, over the last few years, production has dropped considerably. Despite the difficulties, Bullet is making an intensive effort to preserve and maintain its forestry tradition and heritage.
