The Swiss Brain Clock
Everybody agrees that the main purpose of a watch is to tell time according to a generally accepted norm. But what is the origin of this norm? Can we explain time? Is there a way to tell time differently?
Mario Wüthrich, poet, artist and inventor, welcomes guests into his workshop and gift shop “Les Contes du Temps” (Time’s Tales) for a truly educational experience during which each person can create his or her own “Swiss Brain Clock”. In 2 hours, visitors fashion their own octagonal clock on original and colorful platters. Very design!
Sainte-Croix was the industrial centre for musical boxes and automatons during the 19th century. The village has been able to keep the tradition alive continues to manufacture “mechanical movement” instruments and toys. After participating in the Swiss Brain Clock experience, visitors can continue their visit either in Auberson’s Baud Museum (5 km) or in the CIMA Museum (1 km), each of which offers a unique collection of automatons, musical boxes and mechanical instruments.
