The thermal centre at Yverdon-les-Bains offers sulphur spring water at over 30° C. This place of wellness has been used for thousands of years, as proved by the vestiges of Roman thermal baths.
The thermal centre at Yverdon-les-Bains was built around a sulphur spring gushing forth at 29° C, at a flow rate of 60 litres/second. This water is reputed to be excellent for the joints and the respiratory tract, as well as for the stomach and the muscles.
The thermal centre offers four pools, one of which is inside. Water temperature is maintained at 34° C in winter and at 28° C in summer. Jacuzzis, bubble baths, hydro jets, and activated water currents provide moments of relaxation and wellness.
The four-star-plus Grand Hôtel des Bains and its magnificent rotunda dating back to 1896 confer a note of luxury to the adjacent thermal centre. The water of Eburodunum, now Yverdon-les-Bains, has been popular since the first century A.D. Its thermal waters have been used for centuries. The vogue of thermalism in the 17th and 18th centuries resulted in cosmopolitan de luxe tourism that was only slowed down by revolutions and wars.
The baths, together with the thermal centre, the Grand Hotel and Villa Entremonts have been protected buildings since 1977.
