Bonvillars Swiss Truffle market
The Bonvillars Swiss Truffle market is the only event of its kind in Switzerland. It takes place each October in the Cour de Bonvillars, a traditional Bernese patrimonial residence.
The market is the quintessential rendezvous for those in the Truffle world – truffle growers and cellarers, truffle preservers and processors, chefs, nursery owners, dog trainers as well as a host of connoisseurs of this extraordinarily fragrant mushroom. The Burgundy truffle, which is the type of truffle found in our region, is a favourite in gastronomic circles.
In the space of a week-end, the Swiss truffle market entices connoisseurs to renew ties and novices to discover the fabled mushroom’s delicate appeal. It almost goes without saying that many of the area’s favourite eating spots join in the frenzy and prepare a host of specials glorifying the ubiquitous truffle.
