Waterfront heritage
A picturesque site steeped in history and full of fascinating exhibitions on the theme of water, such as the Entreroches canal, which was meant to link the river Rhône to the river Rhin, complete with scale models, machines, films and art. Guided tours or individual visits, waterside terrace.
The Rod mills operated from the Middle Ages until their definitive closure in 1990. Traces of these activities are still visible on the buildings.
Four themes to be discovered: the Entreroches canal and other water lines; renewable energies; once upon a time, there were the Rod mills: the history of the company with descriptions by former workers; the Orbe plain and Jura river correction; not to mention the hydroelectric installations inside the building itself.
