Guided tour of the Menhirs at Clendy
The guided tour of the menhirs will enable visitors to go far back in time as they discover the first traces of life in the Yverdon-les-Bains region.
Clendy is famous for its 45 menhirs - extrardinary, monolithic stones of a height of 4 to 5 metres, erected in a specific arrangement, most likely for a religious purpose, some 6000 years ago.
The guided tour provides plentiful information on this important archeological site, allowing visiters to explore in detail the past history of the Lake region. The site borders on the beach of Yverdon-les-Bain, the natural reserve of the Grande Cariçaie and the park of the castle of Champ-Pittet.
