The Benno Besson Theatre
The Benno Besson Theatre, named after the famous theatre director of Yverdon-les-Bains, is the oldest and largest theatre in Yverdon.
The building itself is a fine edifice in the Baroque style, modelled on the Casino of Monaco; for many years it was in fact known as « The Casino ». Over the years, the building has been renovated several times and used for many different purposes, including balls and other special events, as well as for plays. Only after its most recent renovation in 1998 did it become a theatre in the full sense of the term, with a comfortable, attractively-decorated auditorium offering good visibility and updated technical equipment.
The theatre has become an important part of the cultural life of the region and is known for the quality of its musical and theatrical productions.
