Brief overview : the Yverdon-les-Bains region
The Yverdon-les-Bains region is part of the district of the Jura-Nord in the Canton of Vaud. It includes 80 communes that participate in the tourist activities of the region, with 22 important sites that welcome between 3 000 and 360 000 visitors each year.
New legislation in the Canton for economic development, the increased role of Tourist Office, changes in the tourist tax and the need for a clear strategy for tourism are among the reasons that have prompted the main entities involved in tourist management in the region to restructure their operations. Among these are Grandson, Orbe, Romainmôtier, Sainte-Croix/Les Rasses, Vallorbe, Yverdon-les-Bains and Yvonand.
The new structure has been in place since January 1st 2009. It is run by the Association for the Development of the North Vaudois (known by its French initials as the ADNV - Association pour le Développement du Nord Vaudois).
